Sam and Hannah won Best Debut Artist and were invited
to perform on Mainstage Parachute 2011
They spent months working with supporting band Descend on their repertoire.
Hannah's brother Luke came in later to join the lineup on acoustic guitar.
The performance on Apollo was awesome - they filled up the Apollo tent with loud supporters and had lots of fans waiting outside for them when they finished for photos, hugs and autographs!!
After the gig, the organisers called them aside telling them they were the best band to come thru Apollo that weekend and with the instruction NOT to disappear as they might have just won themselves a spot performing on Mainstage.
They got the call at 7pm that night - that they had officially won BEST DEBUT ARTIST and the chance to perform on the prestigious Mainstage the following day.
The Descend boys had returned to Auckland, but thankfully agreed to drive back the following day. The song was chosen - crowd favourite "Sweet Child of Mine" by GnR.
This was such an awesome opportunity and they took advantage of it, rocking hard out and delivering a fantastic performance to the Monday morning crowds, with front row mosh pit fans calling Encore Encore Encore at the end.
They would like to pass on their thanks to everyone involved with making this happen.
To the Descend boys for their incredible talent onstage - they rock.
To Tash and Dave in Apollo for putting them thru as Best Debut Artist contenders.
To the awesome crew and soundman at Apollo.
To the fans - you are all sooo awesome, thanks for your support.
To the families of the band for running everyone around
YOU ALL ROCK and they couldn't have wished for a better outcome.
